KHANDBARI MARKET FUNDRAISING PROJECT

The Superior-Khandbari Sister City Project will focus on fundraising to support sustainable development and humanitarian assistance in Khandbari. For its first project, the Sister City Project has selected the market area of Khandbari for improvement. Every Saturday, hundreds of citizens from the region come to Khandbari to sell and trade food and goods. It is a vital part of the regional economy.

Unfortunately, the market takes place on a large dirt plot where individuals place blankets on the ground to display their goods. In addition to the health and safety concerns, every time is rains the market closes. There is also no public bathrooms at the marketplace. The Superior-Khandbari would like to build permanent “farmer’s market” type stalls and a public bathroom to help the Khandbari people.
